The 1500 claim form has not been revised for ICD-10 since 2012. We will publish the most recent changes within the ICD-10 billing course soon.

-- AAPC members holding CPC®, COC™, CPC-P®, CPC-I®, CRC®, a coding specialty (excluding CIRCC®), or CPMA® must demonstrate proficiency in ICD-10-CM in order to maintain their credential(s).

-- AHIMA ICD-10 requirement. You must have 6, 12 or 18 hours of ICD-10-CM training (based on which credential[s] you have). AHIMA Credentials affected are: RHIA, RHIT, CCA,
CCS, CCS-P.

ICD-10 has gone live today, Thursday, October 1st, 2015. Expect a major increase in demand and higher pay for ICD-10 certified medical coders. ICD-9 coders will remain in demand for probably six months (or more); any forms coded in ICD-9 returned due to errors or oversights must be corrected using ICD-9.
